Jo Ann Coker | Seattle, WA
Owner, Instructor, DJ, & Host
Jo Ann loves translating music with her body through dance.
She started with Ballet in her youth, then went on to Ballroom, but Lindy Hop and Balboa grabbed her heart. Over the course of 20+ years, she expanded her dance background to include Lindy Hop, Balboa, Waltz, Foxtrot, Blues, West Coast Swing, Bachata, Kizomba, Tango, and even a little bit of Salsa.
In addition to their traditional forms, Jo Ann also enjoys playfully fusing different dance styles. You can expect clear instruction, a focus on proper technique, and plenty of car analogies.
Jo Ann aka L84FLT is a lover and collector of music. Blessed to have an outlet for this obsession, she loves exploring different genres, tempos, and textures within a song. When DJing for a Fusion dance, she knows each song played should have more than one style of dance as an option.
Jo Ann is professional DJ (corporate events, weddings, etc.), and has played at dance events such as the Denver Fusion Exchange, Seattle Fusion Festival, Lindy Focus, Camp Hollywood, Camp Jitterbug, All Balboa Weekend, and Rain City Blues, to name a few.
Jo Ann currently runs Seattle’s largest and longest running weekly fusion venue, Om Fusion.
